BetterBriefs is an advisory and training business that helps marketers improve the quality of their briefs and realise more impactful ideas.
We know from our research that too much time, talent and money is wasted on poor briefs and ineffectual feedback. Our mission is to eradicate poor marketing practices on a global scale in these two areas.
Founders
Matt Davies and Pieter-Paul von Weiler are former creative agency strategists, who’ve worked on thousands of briefs over the past two decades. Their work has garnered many industry accolades, including two Grand Effies and an IPA Effectiveness award.
Passionate about sharing their knowledge, they have released several studies in various publications on the topics of brief writing and idea assessment including the largest global study into marketing briefs, the BetterBriefs Project and follow-on research into how ideas are evaluated, the BetterIdeas Project launched with the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) and the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA). They also authored of The Best Way for a Client to Brief an Agency, created with Mark Ritson in partnership with the IPA which is a practical guide to improves briefing quality and creative effectiveness.
Together with the team at BetterBriefs, they now work with some of the world’s biggest and most ambitious brands, helping their marketers create better briefs that inspire more effective work.
